Rebecca Stern
Available works at Madelyn Jordon Fine Art
Rebecca Stern uses acrylic paint, collage, and drawing materials to produce her abstract work. She considers each piece a "mental landscape" that investigates the complexities of the mind. She is intrigued by the juxtaposition of intentionality and expressive freedom that exists within the materiality of different mediums and the process it takes to find a balance.
Stern's artwork explores personal and universal themes of motivation, control, chance, change, and balance. Gestural marks within the work produce a visual depiction of thought patterns illustrated through repetition, texture, juxtaposition, color, and negative space.
The artist graduated with honors from Lesley University College of Art and Design in 2009. She has exhibited her work nationally for the past 10 years and her work has been acquired by many private collections.
