Linda Nisselson
The changing rhythm, coloration, and energy of nature have always inspired Linda Nisselson's art. Her work expresses emotions connected to a location rather than a specific image. Berkshire landscapes that she grew up around, as well as places she has traveled, are reflected in her paintings.
Linda works on a painting until it develops a life of its own. She paints to transform memories of what she has seen and felt into color, shape, and line. Her color choices are intuitive. While painting, she feels the strokes are choreographed and there is a conversation with color. Sometimes she enhances the work with hits of complementary colors by overlapping and brushing them on top of one another. Marks, scratches, and smudges come rapidly with an energy that keeps the strokes alive. Her edges are often surprising and full of incidents.
Linda's paintings have been exhibited throughout the country in museums and galleries. Her work is also part of numerous private and public collections, many of which are in Fortune 500 companies.
