More about

Marit Geraldine Bostad

Marit Geraldine Bostad’s paintings are never planned. Working intuitively and spontaneously, Bostad’s abstract paintings are influenced by memories and people, whose essence she intuitively attempts to preserve on the canvas. Exploring the Nordic Color tradition in a bold new direction, Bostad blends tone to tone pastels with sparks of fluorescent, manifesting her own personal psychic state onto the canvas. She builds up and breaks down the diverse elements of her experience and brings them together in a new dimension.

Marit Geraldine Bostad worked as an Art Director in Oslo, Norway for over 10 years before deciding in 2010 to pursue painting full time. Bostad has exhibited her work since 2011 in London, Oslo, and New York, receiving substantial recognition from curators as well as galleries and collectors throughout Europe.
