Adam Handler
Adam Handler is recognized both internationally and nationally for his whimsical imagery and faux-naif art practice. Utilizing his personal history as inspiration, Handler’s characters include charming and endearing motifs such as 'ghosts', 'tulips' and girls'.Â
Influenced by Medieval and Renaissance art, Folk and Outsider art, and artists such as De Kooning, Dubuffet, and Basquiat among others, his use of strong colors and playful distortion of form and scale deliberately breaks with tradition and reminds us of our youthful innocence.Â
Adam Handler, born in Queens, NY in 1986, studied Life Drawing in Italy and graduated from SUNY's Purchase College with a major in Art History in 2008. Handler has mounted numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including New York, Europe, Africa, and Seoul, South Korea.
